NFL OFFSEASON PREVIEW

Every NFL Offseason, several trades catch people’s eyes while some are small and don’t make massive changes.

This offseason has the chance to shake up the NFL with players potentially on the move and also with a good free agency class. There will be plenty of contending teams looking to make a splash trade. Let’s start with some of the prolific names that could be traded this offseason or people who simply want out…

QB Deshaun Watson

Deshaun is an elite QB that (per several sources) wants out of Houston. That should be enough for any team with ammo to make a huge splash while also needing a QB of his caliber. You don’t get this chance often, so a team needs to jump on the Watson ship and make a move for him. He is an elite talent that led the NFL in passing yards while having an average team around him. He is a game-changer and would definitely be a franchise changer.

Potential Fits: Dolphins, Patriots

WR Julio Jones

Julio Jones is an elite WR but is starting to near the back end of his career. Being on a team that needs to start moving on from some veterans doesn’t help, especially with Calvin Ridley. He will be a fantastic prize for any team that trades for him. A way to make your franchise QB happy by trading for Julio. He tallied 51 catches for 771 yards in a year that he missed several games.

Potential Fits: Dolphins, Ravens, and Colts

CB Adoree’ Jackson

The Titans have some depth at CB and could deal one of them away. They’d most likely want to get rid of Malcolm Butler, but with teams trying to compete next year, Adoree’ would be a fantastic piece. He hasn’t hit his ceiling yet, but his trade value would still be pretty high. He has some elite speed at DB and could pay dividends to whoever would trade for Jackson.

Potential Fits: Cardinals, Bills, and 49ers

TE Evan Engram

Evan Engram is probably one of the most dynamic, explosive tight ends in the NFL… when he catches the ball. He has a considerable drop problem and hasn’t been able to get over himself mentally. He is a young player and just needs to fix the drops. A contending team could add him to their roster, coach him up, get him right, and they’d get a great player. He finished the year with only 1 touchdown but still made the Pro Bowl.

Potential Fits: Panthers, Packers, and 49ers.

RB Kerryon Johnson

He is lost in the Detroit backfield. It’s an excellent decision for the Lions to get draft capital for him while another team will get a young power back with some explosiveness. He’s only 23, so there is a lot of potential in trading for Kerryon, which would be a win-win for the Lions getting draft capital, and Kerryon getting a starting role again.

Potential Fits: Steelers and Eagles
