Hailie Deegan Forced To Attend Sensitivity Training

Hailie Deegan has become one of NASCAR’s most controversial drive. Her aggressive driving style has let to tons of debate. She even wrecked her own teammate to become NASCAR’s first ever female drive to win a NASCAR race at the age of 17.

Hailie Deegan is NASCAR’s top prospect but is now under heavy scrutiny. She was streaming on Twitch running an Iracing race when she used the R-word. This has led to NASCAR forcing her to attend sensitivity training with no further punishment.

Hailie Deegan Apologizes

This all comes as we are now just a month away from Hailie Deegan’s first full time ride in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

Hailie Deegan had this to say after the incident, “Earlier tonight I used an insensitive word during an online race being broadcast on Twitch. It was inappropriate slang and was a stupid thing to do. I apologize to everyone who was offended by it. There’s no excuse for it, and I know I have to do better for my sponsor and my fans.”

Following this NASCAR announced she will be required to take sensitivity training before the start of the 2021 season.

Deegan’s Future

Even with what has happened she still has a bright future ahead of her. She has already won three races in the formerly known NASCAR K&N Pro Series West. Last season in the ARCA Menards Series, she had four top-5 finishes, 17 top-10 finished. Deegan also has an average finish of 7.3.

Hailie Deegan also made her debut last season in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. She finished 16th at Kansas Motor Speedway.

A Hard Lesson Learned

The situation is unfortunate for Hailie Deegan. Even at the age on 19, she still made a mistake. Thankfully at such a young age this will be a hard lesson learned.

At the age of 19 teenagers make mistakes and this was a mistake which can only make her a better person. Once she completes her sensitivity training, she can move on and look ahead to her rookie season in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
