This off-season the Phoenix Suns made a large move to push them into playoff contention. They acquired all-star Chris Paul in hopes of making a large jump in the standings and a deep playoff run. Chris Paul has largely impacted the Suns and has been a huge reason why they remain in the playoff race.
A Great Mentor
Chris Paul has been a perfect fit for the Suns team. He provides the veteran leadership that every team desperately needs. He has been a great mentor for young players around the league. There have been many times where Chris Paul has been portrayed as a great mentor for younger players.
Stephen Curry even said in an interview “He was a great mentor when it came to understanding how a guy on his level prepared over the summer for an NBA season”. Chris Paul has been Mentoring younger players over the years and will continue to do so on the Pheonix Suns with young stars like Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton.
Still a Hooper
Even though Paul is now best thought of as a mentor to great young teams, he can still affect the games enormously. Chris is averaging 16.9 points per game to go along with 8.1 assists. The Suns also stand at 15-9 through 24 games sitting at fourth in the Western Conference. This is a huge jump from last season when they nearly made playoffs from their Orlando Bubble run.
If the season ended today the Pheonix Suns would be Facing the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round. This should be a winning series for the revamped Suns roster. Overall Chris Paul has greatly impacted the Pheonix Suns and will lead them to many wins in the future.
