
It is officially that time of the year. A week following the Super Bowl it is now time for NASCAR’s Super Bowl. The Daytona 500 is finally here. It is the “Great American Race” where dreams are made. It is a race where all 40 cars in the field have a chance at writing their name into the history books.
This is also a race where the “big one” is looming any time anywhere. Everything will be on the line with a lot to gain and lose. Now it’s time to kick back and enjoy the “Great American Race” at the” World Center of Racing” to enjoy the Daytona 500.
The Title Defense Begins
Last year was an unforgettable year for NASCAR and especially for Chase Elliott. It was the miracle nobody expected. Chase Elliott won his first championship last season. He was the first driver to win the “Most Popular Driver” award and the championship for the first time since his dad Bill Elliott did it.
Now Chase Elliott will start defending his title at the Daytona 500. Chase Elliott will be starting from the 12th spot. Elliott will look to add to his legacy by adding a Daytona 500 win to his record.
Denny Hamlin Looks For 3rd Straight 500 Win
Denny Hamlin will be looking to make history on Sunday. Hamlin has won two straight Daytona 500s in incredible fashion. From 2019 in the closest finish in NASCAR history against Martin Truex Jr to winning last year in scary fashion after Ryan Newman’s crash.
Now he will be looking to make history by becoming the first driver to ever win three straight Daytona 500s. Last year’s win wasn’t a day to really celebrate as everyone was anxiously awaiting the news on Ryan Newman after his scary crash. This year he will look to have more of a celebration by making history.
Bubba Wallace looks to continue his red hot start
It has been quite the debut for Bubba Wallace so far. He has begun the next chapter of his career by joining 23XI racing run by NBA legend Michael Jordan and NASCAR superstar Denny Hamlin. He has had a great start to the 2021 season.
In his very first practice, he finished first with the fastest lap. Then in the Duel at Daytona, he nearly won the race but was passed by Austin Dillon coming out of turn four. Now he will officially kick off his season at 23XI racing and he will look to shock the world and win the Daytona 500.
The 2021 Season is Officially Here
It has been a long offseason for the NASCAR Cup Series. So many changes this offseason has made for plenty of storylines going into the Daytona 500. There will be much-anticipated debuts and many new faces in new places. This is the Super Bowl of racing and all eyes will be on Daytona. There will even be 30,000 people in attendance for the Daytona 500.
With all that is happening in the world, the fans can have a distraction for a few hours. The hype for the 2021 season is through the roof and people are more excited than ever. This may truly be the greatest season ever. Now kick back and enjoy the Daytona 500.
