Erling Haaland is arguably the most exciting young talent in world soccer. As discussed in my last article, Haaland along with Mbappe seem to be the likely successors to Messi and Ronaldo’s reign at the top of the game. Because of this, it is no surprise that all of the top European sides would love to sign Haaland.

There has been a lot of talk in recent weeks that the striker will leave Borussia Dortmund this summer. And so, In this article, I am going to predict what club the Norwegian goes to next.

Manchester City:

Manchester City is the form side of European soccer, they have won their last 21 games in all competitions. This would make you think, surely they don’t need a signing like Haaland. The main reason why they may look towards signing the youngster is because of the aging Sergio Aguero.

The Argentinian is now 32 years old and certainly past his peak. Adding to this, his contract expires this summer. As such, City may view this as the perfect time to move on from Aguero and invest heavily in the goal-hungry Haaland.

Chelsea:

Chelsea is no stranger to spending big money. In the last summer transfer window, the blues splashed out a quite remarkable $307.91 Million. This would suggest the London side will be very tempted to spend big and bring Haaland to the club. However, they currently have a number of attacking options and so there doesn’t seem to be an urgent need for another striker. As such, I can’t see this being Erling Haaland’s next destination.

Bayern Munich:

Along with Manchester City, Bayern Munich are the other form side in Europe. Despite being almost untouchable in recent years, the Bavarians are always looking to strengthen. The German side has also made a habit of signing the most promising Bundesliga players recently. And so, this destination makes a lot of sense.

Erling Haaland would get to stay in a league he is settled in but also gets to play for a European powerhouse. Along with Manchester City, I think Bayern is Haaland’s most likely next club.

Juventus:

One of the other sides in contention for Haaland’s signature is Juventus. The Italian side already has plenty of superstars including Cristiano Ronaldo. On paper, this destination seems to be one of the most exciting. The thought of Ronaldo and Haaland lining up for the same team is tantalizing. However, I do not think it is realistic and I can’t see Haaland playing his soccer here anytime soon.

Barcelona:

The final option I’m going to consider is Barcelona. The Nou Camp side is arguably the biggest club in world soccer. So, this would seem like the perfect fit for one of the most talented forwards in the game. I think the only way that this move happens is if Lionel Messi leaves this summer.

The Argentinian star has the option to leave the club for free this summer and if he does it will free up an enormous amount of money for Barcelona. This money could then be used to pay Haaland’s inevitably massive transfer fee. He would be the perfect replacement for Messi but I personally think Messi will stay at the club and so Haaland will have to find somewhere else for his next step.

My prediction:

I personally think that Erling Haaland will end up at Manchester City. The fact that City is renowned for spending big in the transfer market is a big point. Adding to this, the timing of the move just makes too much sense with Aguero likely moving on. As such, I think the Norwegian star will be showcasing his talents for the blue side of Manchester next season.
