
Yesterday’s race saw a little bit of everything on the track. There was wild racing and it was a very eventful day as Kyle Larson has finally won again.
This was his first win since 2019 in the second Dover race. He has come a long way to get back to this point and he still has a long way to go.
Keselowski Takes The First Stage
After a ton of crazy racing, Brad Keselowski won stage number 1. He and Chase Elliott battled in the final laps but coming out of turn number four with two to go Brad Keselowski passed Chase Elliott for the lead and stage victory. Chase Elliott had a fast car and he finished in the runner-up position.
In third came Ryan Blaney. Finishing in the fourth position was Denny Hamlin. Rounding out the top five was Alex Bowman. All the Hendrick Cars were running fast and all looked like they would compete for a victory.
Larson Wins His First Stage Of 2021
Kyle Larson dominated stage 2 as he took the victory with ease. This is his first stage victory of the 2021 season. Finishing in the runner-up position was stage 1 winner Brad Keselowski. Finishing in the third position was the 11 team of Denny Hamlin. Fourth place was taken by last week’s winner William Byron. Rounding out the top five was Ryan Blaney.
Larson Wins His First Race Since 2019
Trouble hit with 98 laps to go as Chase Elliott spun out on the Nellis Straightaway. There was no contact with anyone else but it was a tough day for him after having such a fast start. With 89 laps remaining Aric Almirola‘s bad luck continues as he was knocked out of the race when he blew a tire and hit the wall in turn 2. He would finish in 25th.
As the race went on after a long a grueling comeback Kyle Larson has won the Penzoil 400. This is his first win since 2019 when he won the second race at Dover. This also means it is his first win since his indefinite suspension. Kyle Larson has gone from suspension to redemption now.
Outlook
Kyle Larson has come a long way since his suspension. Since then he has attended sensitivity training and has gone through a lot of effort to make this comeback. When NASCAR announced he was able to comeback fans were ecstatic.
Car owner Rick Hendrick took a chance on him by bringing him in and he has not disappointed. However, this is only the beginning for the 5 team as he still has a lot of work to do in order to achieve the main goal which is his first-ever title.
