Going into the spring and Myles Brennan returning, it seemed like it was his job to lose. However, recently it has looked like Max Johnson is a true contender after the disappointing season they had last year.

Myles Brennan started with the job last year but after early-season struggles and an injury, Max Johnson came in. He performed about the same as Brennan but he did knock off a very talented Florida team.

With plenty of time, until Ed Orgeron announces a starter, the job looks to narrowly be in Brennan’s hands still. But know that this is not just LSU giving Johnson his due diligence, it’s a true battle.

Prediction: Myles Brennan
