
It has been a long two years for NASCAR fans. With California’s COVID restrictions, there was no race in 2020. Now, NASCAR fans can rejoice and say finally NASCAR has come back to Sonoma. It was what a race fan wanted and finally got. There were even questions about if they would race here in 2021 after the Auto Club 400 got canceled due to California’s restrictions. Thankfully, this race is still on and fans can celebrate the return of Sonoma Raceway.

The last time NASCAR was at Sonoma Raceway, Martin Truex Jr. took the victory. Finishing in the runner-up spot was Kyle Busch. The third position went to the 12 of Ryan Blaney. Finishing in the fourth position was Matt DiBenedetto when he was still with Leavine Family Racing. Rounding out the top five was Denny Hamlin.

Chase Elliott is the favorite to win this race at Sonoma at +210. The defending race winner at Sonoma Martin Truex Jr has the second-best chance to win at +375. There is a wide gap from second to third as Kyle Busch’s chances are at +700. The fourth-best chances to win at Sonoma go to Kyle Larson at +750. The fifth-best odds go to Denny Hamlin at +1000.

This weekend did not feature any practice or qualifying despite not running at Sonoma in two years. This means last week’s winner Kyle Larson has won the pole for the race. Chase Elliott will be on the outside of Row One will be the 9 of Chase Elliott. On the inside of Row Two will be the 24 of William Byron. On the outside of Row 2 will be Denny Hamlin. Rounding out the top five will be Kyle Busch.
Sonoma Race Information
The race will begin at 4 PM EST, 1 PM PST. This race will be 90 laps. Stages One and Two will be 20 lap shootouts. The final stage will be 50 laps to the finish. Coverage of the race will begin at 4 PM. The race will be televised on Fox Sports 1 and on TSN in Canada. The race will be heard on the Performance Racing Network. The Race can also be heard on SiriusXM NASCAR channel 90.
